Credit Check For A Mortgage Application?

Do a credit check before making a mortgage application!

If you have not done this and your mortgage application has been rejected, or you simply suspect that you may have a bad credit rating, you can access your credit file at Equifax or Experian.

There are a number of important steps in the mortgage application process and if you understand the process this will enable you to be in a position to provide the lender with everything they need.

If you can do this it will encourage a speedy resolution to the mortgage application process.

If your ready you can get a decision in principle from the lender before you’ve even chosen the property you want. This provides you with details of if they will and exactly how much they will be prepared to lend you.

This decision is based on the information you’ve provided them. You should remember that if the lender gets a decision in principle for you they will have undertaken a credit check, which will show on your credit report.

It’s important to note that too many credit checks will affect your credit rating and may affect your ability to get a high street mortgage.
